Is there a way to edit collection information supplied during import?

0 votes

Our repository initially approached ePADD in an experimental manner, mainly as a way to view individual emails for a restricted collection. We did not plan on exporting to the Discovery or Delivery Modules. But as we continued to process, we realized we were wasting our effort by not saving the changes made in Appraisal and Processing. We did not name collections consistently when importing (sometimes to Appraisal, sometimes to Processing), but would now like to go back and rename the collections--i.e. change the Name of the archive owner and Archive title fields from the import screen. Is this possible? If so, how? We know we can edit collection information in the Processing Module, but can't figure out how to get back to this information.

It would also be handy if there was a way to merge multiple collections since we uploaded larger ones in batches after noticing that the program got kind of sluggish when more than 20,000 emails were being processed at a time.

Could you please clarify what you mean when you write that you cannot edit collection information? If you are in Processing, as you mentioned, you should be able to edit the information from the Collection page, under Edit Metadata.

ePADD 5.0 allows you to merge accessions added in Appraisal using the Processing module. Please see the user guide for more information about that process.

ePADD is a software package developed by Stanford University's Special Collections & University Archives that supports archival processes around the appraisal, ingest, processing, discovery, and delivery of email archives.
