Is there a way to edit erroneous email dates so that the collection metadata doesn't begin too early?

Currently I'm looking at two erroneously dated emails, incorrectly labeled as dating from 1969 and 1970, which skew the collection date range: instead of 1997-2014, the range is 1969-2014. Any way to edit this to correct the metadata?

Did you use mbox file(s) as input or connect to IMAP to get the messages? If you use mbox file, you can use an editor to locate the message and change the date. Or course, you need to document what you have done.

ePADD is a software package developed by Stanford University's Special Collections & University Archives that supports archival processes around the appraisal, ingest, processing, discovery, and delivery of email archives.
