Transferring ePADD archives to Archivematica

+2 votes

I'm wondering what is possible (or in the works or on the wishlist) in terms of facilitating the transfer of an ePADD archive to a digital preservation system - thinking specifically of Archivematica. For example in order to do normalization on the attachments, and preserve other pieces of a given collection in one place. I see that you can export everything as an mbox file, but I'm not sure about the metadata.

ePADD has primarily been designed to assist repositories with meeting the immediate challenge of providing meaningful access to email archives. Accommodating different preservation strategies is on the longterm roadmap for future development. We're looking forward to additional conversations with Archivematica and others around the important areas you've identified.

Great, thanks. I definitely don't want to detract from the great leap forward you've already achieved...

ePADD is a software package developed by Stanford University's Special Collections & University Archives that supports archival processes around the appraisal, ingest, processing, discovery, and delivery of email archives.
