Problem importing .mbox files from Entourage 2008

+1 vote

Hi all,

I'm attempting to use ePADD to appraise a collection of mbox files exported from Entourage 2008. Import completes, but each file only contains at most a single message in ePadd which is extremely garbled. On the original system there are several thousand emails. I think what it's displaying is the full contents of the inbox as a single message, with attachments displayed as raw code (long strings of nonsense charcters). I'm assuming Entourage is using some sort of mbox variant that ePadd can't parse? Would be interested to hear if anyone's come up against something similar and how they solved.

Discovered the solution myself - the mbox files used Mac CR line breaks instead of CR LF. Editing the files in Notepad + to use the latter line breaks fixed the issue.

will take care of this, if such occurs to me. thanks for conforming the resolution.

ePADD is a software package developed by Stanford University's Special Collections & University Archives that supports archival processes around the appraisal, ingest, processing, discovery, and delivery of email archives.
