Can't import MBOX files made through Google Takeout

0 votes

When I try to import MBOX files generated via Google Takeout, the emails don't appear, but I do see one email that's filled with letters/numbers/unreadable characters and dated January 1, 1960. Based on some text at the bottom of the email, it looks like this is the file from Takeout. Other methods of importing emails (MBOX files from Thunderbird, using the address and password, etc.) do work.

Based on the research I've done about the problem, it looks like this is a known issue with ePADD that will be fixed in a later release. Is there anything I haven't tried that you'd recommend? When will this issue be addressed?

ePADD version 1.0 could not import mbox from Google Takeout, However, version 2.0 can handle that.

Thank you so much for your quick response! I'll keep trying to get it to work - there must be something we're not getting.

ePADD is a software package developed by Stanford University's Special Collections & University Archives that supports archival processes around the appraisal, ingest, processing, discovery, and delivery of email archives.
